This weekend — are you ready?

r1

Dear Friends,

You do not want to miss out: this weekend is going to be an historic climate change mobilisation all across the globe. It’s the People’s Climate Mobilisation!

So far there are more than 2,500 events planned in 155+ countries, so there should almost definitely be an event near you. With September 20-21 only a few days away, time has come for you to join people all over the world:

Will you be a part of this historic mobilisation?

It is true that this one day will not be all it takes to get our governments to act at the scale that science and justice demand. No single action or mobilisation is enough for that. But this weekend is not singular. By joining this People’s Climate Mobilisation you will be standing alongside thousands, perhaps millions of... others around the globe at a critical moment. This is just days before heads of state will be meeting in New York to discuss the climate crisis. And our efforts do not stop there either.

In Europe, the US, and Australia ever growing numbers of people are joining the Fossil Free divestment movement. In Asia and Africa groups are organising for a new development paradigm powered by renewable, community-based energy, not coal. In Latin America communities are standing up to fracking and to the vested interests opposing progress on climate change. And in the Pacific, non-violent warriors are rising up to blockade the largest coal port in the world.

All of this continues beyond this weekend. And all of it too, will be strengthened by the force we can unleash together – for a people’s climate.

Will you be a part of this critical moment?

Within a week we will see how beautiful this was. We will see our global power, our united voice, our commitment to make future generations proud of what we did. If we are to fight for a safe future, the time is now.

Onwards,

Eduardo, Hoda, Mahir, Payal, and Will for the whole 350.org team
