Interested in joining the Steering Committee?

The Steering Committee works with staff at the BCHC and general membership in building a province-wide movement in favour of public health care. Being part of the Steering Committee means that your organization can influence the work and play a key role in the governance and direction of the BCHC.

If your organization is interested in joining the Steering Committee, please fill out the Interest form by clicking HERE. You can also find out more about the role, time commitment, and expectations of being a member of the Steering Committee by clicking HERE.

We want to hear from you!

As a coalition, your membership ensures that together we represent the diversity of opinions and needs in B.C – and gives us the strength to take on the challenges ahead. We want to hear from you on what is the next important challenge for the BCHC to take on.

Some of the actions we have taken in the past year have been to push back against the use of for-profit clinics in dealing with the surgical backlog and winning the legal challenge against Day and Cambie Surgeries who are still seeking to strike down key provisions that protect our public health care system.

In the next year, we will keep organizing to remove the profit motive from Seniors' Care, pushing back against privatization in health care, and advocating for Community Health Centres. As we look forward to the next year, we want your input into our new priorities in addition to our existing work which we'll continue. Click on the button below to complete a two question survey on what you think the BCHC should focus on.

Edith MacHattie & Kathleen Jamieson
