Canada's Natural Heritage Report

PAOV,

Canadians know we live in a special place. We believe that wilderness and wildlife are in our nature, and that clean air, fresh water and wide open spaces are part of the fabric of this country.

Protecting what is near and dear to us is the premise of our new educational report, Canada’s Natural Heritage – Worth Fighting For.

This report looks at what we have to protect, the threats that that are conspiring to undermine our natural heritage and the damage our environment will suffer due to years of cuts to federal laws. Most importantly, the report highlights straightforward solutions needed for a healthy, wealthy and environmentally sustainable Canada.

Read this paper to understand:

  • what endangered species need to survive and recover
  • how we can make our national parks the best they can be
  • why fish without habitat protection are in deep water
  • how Canada can become an international leader on climate change

If you are inspired by stunning parks, pristine waters and unique species, and want to help keep them healthy, please join the fight to protect Canada’s natural heritage. You can take action by contacting local decision-makers to discuss ways they can better protect Canada’s environment, or by writing a letter to your local paper to bring more attention to environmental concerns.

Above all, this October we encourage you to make environmental protection a priority when you cast your vote.

Sharing this report with your family, friends and coworkers is another great way to educate your community and do your part to safeguard what makes Canada great.
