There’s still time to join our growing community of Toad People

Hello PAOV,

A few weeks ago, we launched our Toad People film trailer and asked you to support our crowdfunding campaign to tell the story of passionate community members who are working to save western toadlets in Ryder Lake, BC.

Well, now it’s three weeks later and our 125 funders have raised over $7,500 to help us complete this inspiring wildlife film project!

By contributing to this campaign online and claiming exciting perks, you are helping to spread the hopeful stories of community conservationists across the province.

Please visit our crowdfunding page to view the trailer and contribute now!

Toad People is already generating quite a buzz:

► Our stunning Toad Person certificates are a favourite for Toad People who are claiming perks as part of the campaign, and the Great Bear Lodge trip perk sold out on the first day. There are still some amazing perks up for grabs – including some recently-added artworks and once-in-a-lifetime field trips to see wildlife in their habitat!

► Seven schools and youth groups from Vancouver to Chilliwack have already pledged or contributed funds, adding more than $600 to support the film. We need your help to make sure these kids have diverse wild species in their future.

Tartine Bread & Pies is now producing Toad Cookies! All the proceeds from these $4 cookies go toward Toad People, and if you’re in Vancouver you can get yours at selected screenings during the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. (Check out our table at screenings on Feb. 12 and 20)

► On February 15th, our Toad People trailer is playing on the big screen at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver. Part of VIMFF, the trailer is opening for Hadwin’s Judgement, a film adaptation of John Vaillant’s The Golden Spruce. John has generously offered to donate the proceeds of his book sales that night to the Toad People campaign!

This autumn, we will take the completed Toad People film on tour throughout BC, educating people and empowering them to demand protective endangered species legislation for wildlife across the province. Community and naturalist groups from across the province have already asked to host screenings of the film once it is complete.

Your contribution to our crowdfunding campaign will allow us to travel to those locations and mobilize British Columbians to take action for the wildlife in their backyards.

Clearly, we are gathering a lot of momentum.

Please join the movement before February 29th to help us reach our $20,000 target!

On behalf of the western toads and the entire Toad People team, thank you for your support!
