Stand up for compassion and choice

Dear friends,
We've just been given a trial date to challenge Bill C-14, the law that restricts access to medical assistance in dying, and leaves people who are suffering behind.
Right now the government is ignoring the most critical voices in this conversation– that of the patients and families who want the ability control their own lives and their own destinies.
Julia Lamb
We’re challenging this unjust law with Julia Lamb, a courageous woman living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, who wants the peace of mind of knowing that when living becomes intolerable, she will be able to control how and when to end her suffering.
We’re working hard to make sure the court hears from people like Julia. The deadline for us to submit this important evidence is December 15.
Donate nowThe Supreme Court of Canada ruled that MAID should be available to clearly consenting, competent adults who have a grievous and irremediable medical condition that causes them enduring and intolerable suffering.
But the new law also imposed an absolute ban on allowing non‑terminal patients to choose assistance in dying. It requires that a person’s death must be “reasonably foreseeable.”
Thank you for standing up for compassion and choice at the end of life.
