Tell Shopify: end your relationship with hate groups

Canadian e-commerce giant Shopify was just forced to end its relationship with the hate group Proud Boys. Now we have to get it to end it with all hate groups.

Tell Shopify: stop profiting off hate and end your relationship with Generations and all hate groups.

A,

Shopify, an Ottawa-based e-commerce company, runs the online store for Generations, a far-right anti-gay organization. The group's leader openly advocates for the execution of gay people and offers “educational” materials for sale that include homophobic literature and books that decry feminism, abortion... and transgender rights.

Last week, public pressure from you forced Shopify to ban far-right men's organization, the Proud Boys, for promoting hate. And the week before it was pressured to ban social networking site Gab from using its service after it was revealed that the suspect in the devastating Pittsburgh synagogue shooting was a regular user on the site who frequently promoted and posted anti-Semitic content there.

Right now, Shopify is incredibly vulnerable to public pressure -- and together we can force it to end its relationship with hate groups once and for all.

Sign the petition now to Shopify: end your relationship with hate group Generations.

Extremist hate groups like Generations are using Shopify to sell their products and spread their messages of violence. This generates income these groups need to keep spreading their hateful message.

By giving these extremist groups a platform, Shopify is indirectly profiting off of this hate. The devastating events in Pittsburgh and Kentucky recently are proof of the dangerously slippery slope that companies like Shopify operate in when they refuse to stop working with hate groups, directly violating their own policies.

But we can force Shopify to act. You and 200,000 SumOfUs members are the reason that Shopify amended its terms of service last year to be able to deny service to “offensive, threatening, libellous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene, or otherwise objectionable” content. Together, we can hold Shopify accountable to these commitments.

Shopify needs to feel that pressure again to end its offensive relationship with these hate groups. IIf enough of us speak out now we can force Shopify to act.

We won before, and we need your help again. Can you tell Shopify to end its relationship with hate groups now?
