Norieen Yaakob of the Temiar tribe of Malaysia barely survived running away from her residential school. She was found 47 days after fleeing her school; five other children died. Dear friend,
Will you help us end the horror of Factory Schools?
Four days ago we emailed you with the
terrible story of the tribal children who died after they ran away from a residential school to escape beatings and harsh punishments.
The tragedy inspired us to launch a new campaign to expose the thousands of Factory Schools that "reprogram" indigenous children and subject them to appalling racism, and often to physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
In these schools tribal children are alienated from their families and stripped of their identities.
Similar schools existed for decades in Australia, Canada and the U.S. The suffering they inflicted is carried down the generations, and causes ongoing trauma today to survivors and their descendants.
We simply cannot allow these abuses to continue.
You, friend, are our most important ally in the fight to stop them. Please
donate now → The forces ranged against us are very powerful, but together, we can ensure that every child gets an education that respects their culture and identity.
Please
donate now → Thank you,
