Help stop greed at Saskatoon Co-op!
r1
This strike is about two-tiered wages and benefits. ...
On November 1, 2018, over 900 UFCW Canada Local 1400 members working at Saskatoon Co-op were forced out on strike by a greedy employer who wants to rollback the principles of the co-op movement and erode the future of good jobs in the tight-knit community of Saskatoon, Canada.
The employer is pushing a mean-spirited contract that would prevent new workers from earning the same wages as other workers doing the exact same work. This difference in wages is almost as high as $8,000 CAD per year.
All the while, Co-op’s senior executives brag about the company’s record profits – exceeding $1 billion in 2018.
The CEO of Saskatoon Co-op, Grant Wicks, is attacking living standards for workers at the Co-op by demanding deep wage roll-backs. Meanwhile the umbrella organization for co-operatives in Canada, Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC), has chosen to stay silent while workers are left out in the cold.
Take action today by sending a message to the board of directors of these organizations and tell them that a fair contract means an equitable agreement that provides fair pay for all workers.
You can help workers at Saskatoon Co-op, send a message today!

Derek Blackadder
