International Workers March & Award Ceremony

May 1st, 2019

Join us this International Workers’ Day

for an "all ages" celebration of Victoria’s socialist activists featuring a vegan dinner, drinks, music, and prizes! Victoria is home to a number of activists and organisers who dedicate their efforts to the cause of labour, decolonization, the environment, and a variety of struggles against the effects of capitalism, and we’d like to recognise their contributions with the first ever Victoria Socialist Awards ceremony!

7:20-7:30: Speech on the 100th Anniversary of the Winnipeg General Strike - Carlos Flores
7:30-7:45: Music: Art Farquharson
7:45-8:00 Keynote Address on System Change: Howard Breen
8:00-8:35: Awards Ceremony
8:35-8:45: Raffle
8:45-9:00: Special Announcement from Tyson Strandlund, Rob Duncan & Kimball Cairou
