I'm sorry about that: we made a mistake and sent folks around the world an email that was just meant for people in the United States. If you are interested what's going on around the US presidential election (although you might also be tired of hearing about it already!), you can read the email to get a peek at some of our work.

On Friday, presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren announced a bold climate commitment: if elected, she would sign an executive... order on Day One halting all fossil fuel drilling on our public lands.

Warren and her plan to Keep It In the Ground are part of a presidential race where the climate crisis has already gotten more attention than ever before. That’s already an incredible step — but still, that doesn’t mean everyone in the race has a plan that’s just and bold enough to take on the scale of the climate crisis. (Far from it.)

When it comes to an issue as urgent and enormous as climate justice, we need to hear the details.

Climate change is the biggest threat humanity has ever faced — and we need to know our next president has a plan to take the crisis seriously. Add your name to call for a debate focused on candidates’ plans for climate action.

We need to know which candidates have serious plans to take on the fossil fuel polluters and ensure a just transition to 100% renewable energy — and which ones will only speak vaguely about the reality of the crisis without commiting to take the bold action science and justice demand. In addition to climate questions at every primary debate, a full debate dedicated to climate action is an important step to help make that clear.

And in just the last week, the demands for that climate debate have already gotten a lot louder. Two presidential candidates — Washington Governor Jay Inslee and New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand — have both come out in support. And dozens of organizations, public figures, youth climate strike leaders, and more than 100,000 people like you have joined the call to action.

In other words: we’re riding an incredible wave of momentum right now. If enough people like you speak up now, we have a real chance to win this historic victory: putting a real conversation about addressing the climate crisis at the center of a presidential election.

And it’s about time.
