Dear Paov,

We’ve worked tirelessly this past year to build a bold, unapologetic people-powered movement in support of a made-in-Canada Green New Deal.

And, Paov, it’s paying off. 17 new Members of Parliament have already pledged to champion bold climate action. Last month, one of them even filed a historic motion in support of Canada’s Green New Deal. These are huge wins for our movement. To keep up the pressure and plan for big bold actions next year, we need your help.

Thanks to you, we made sure that the climate crisis was front and center in the 2019 federal election. Here are some of our highlights:

  • We worked with our partners to support the largest climate mobilization in history during the September 27th Global Climate Strike. In Canada, we helped bring nearly 1 million people to the streets.
  • We organized over 50,000 people in support of a leaders’ debate on the climate crisis. Thanks to our pressure, climate was the most discussed topic at all the federal leaders’ debates.
  • We activated a youth-led network of organizers that pushed candidates from all parties to go above and beyond in their support for a Green New Deal. And we successfully elected 8 outstanding Green New Deal champions.
  • After the election, we got to work right away by delivering 338 mandate letters, one for every Member of Parliament, to the floor of the House of Commons. On October 28th, our action made national headlines, and since then, over a dozen new Members of Parliament have accepted our demand to make a Green New Deal their top priority.
