TAKE ACTION
This Earth Day Let’s Do a Simple Act of Green
Dear Paov,
There’s a palpable hurt in the world. And we’re all trying to get by in our own way, so I thought I might offer a distraction (an important one): Earth Day.
Through all of this, climate activists are still holding strong. Greta Thunberg has taken the student strike digital. And as we've been restricted more to our homes, we’ve become increasingly aware of what we’re missing in nature.
As hard as this moment is, humanity will survive, but the real way to ensure our long term health is by protecting the planet. That's why World Wildlife Fund (WWF) recently launched a massive new petition and they plan to deliver it directly to the head of the UN in New York. Let’s show the world that people everywhere are serious about protecting the planet!
Add Your NameThe petition calls for a new deal for nature and people to sustainably manage our planet. We know that habitat loss, including from climate change, creates more contact between animals and humans making it easier for viruses to take root and spread. So the better able we are to protect nature, the better able we’ll be to protect our future.
In 2015 over 600,000 of us took to the streets to demand action on climate change, and the world took notice inking the Paris climate agreement - a historic pact to prevent the planet’s temperature from rising above 1.5℃.
When people come together, world leaders listen and if we all join the call, we’ll be that much closer to ensuring a better and healthier world for our next generations.
