It’s World Humanitarian Day — Help Ensure Vulnerable Children Keep Learning
...
Hi Paov,
Since COVID-19 began, securing access to proper education for youth around the globe has been harder than ever.
The pandemic has impacted about 98.6% of the world's student population, disrupting education for over 1 billion students, and uprooting over 30 million from their homes and forcing them to seek refuge.
On this World Humanitarian Day, add your name to call on world leaders to help every child get a quality education — even during the pandemic.
This issue is urgent — and organisations like Education Cannot Wait (ECW) are working swiftly to break new ground to help kids keep learning through COVID-19 across 33 countries.
For example, since the pandemic began, ECW has already delivered non-traditional classroom alternative approaches like radio-based learning in the Central African Republic and Niger to about 4,000 children and youth.
However, ECW has less than half the money it needs to carry on with this life-changing work. Canada has been a strong supporter of ECW, but its funding runs out this fiscal year. That’s why we’re calling on world leaders, including from Canada, to pledge new funds to help the most vulnerable children get a quality education — click here to take action.
With thanks,
