I’m proud to report that together, we’re winning big, concrete victories that result in sweeping, industry-wide changes and environmental protection on a massive scale.

And our victories depend on people like you.

Whether you’re urging lawmakers to protect ancient forests, calling on cruise giant Carnival to stop polluting the Arctic, or taking principled direct action to stop new fossil fuel infrastructure, you are critical in the fight for a cleaner, healthier, and more equitable planet.

I'll let you in on a secret about what makes the Stand.earth community powerful:

Because we work across both the United States and Canada, we’re uniquely situated to fight... oil infrastructure projects up and down the West Coast.

We respond quickly and strategically to threats and opportunities, using the right tools and tactics for the moment. We combine innovative digital campaigning with smart, on-the-ground organizing and action. Our big community of members are ready and able to help us achieve an outsized impact with a small team and lean organization.

We dream about the seemingly impossible – and then make it happen. We’re not afraid to confront large corporations and stage weeklong actions in front of their headquarters – just like we did in front of Starbucks’ headquarters when we got the coffee giant to commit to making a recyclable cup!

We also support companies that are ready to lead the way on clean energy and best industry practices. We’ll never help greenwash a company or politician that’s not making real changes – but we also don’t assume that all companies and governments are our enemies. Instead, we persuade laggards to become leaders, and thank them when they do. This fierce compassion is central to our identity and the transformative power of our work.

We recognize that Indigenous, Black, immigrant, and working class communities bear the deepest impacts of social and environmental injustices, and need to be at the core of our work. Our movement has historically marginalized these communities, weakening all of us. We’re committed to changing this pattern by elevating local voices, and building equitable relationships with frontline groups. In particular, we commit to respect and support the rights of the Indigenous communities who have been stewards of this land for tens of thousands of years.

I share all of this with you because how we work – with our community, with allies and with adversaries – is as important as the campaigns we work on.
