r1 With so many critical environmental issues to tackle in 2021, where should we start? ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌

,

At Stand.earth, our work is driven by a belief in the collective power of everyday people like you and me.

Despite what 2020 threw at us, together we helped stop the world’s biggest tar sands mine, blocked reckless government bailouts, and secured major commitments to protect some of the last old growth forests. It’s thanks to the growing power of this movement that we were able to achieve these wins.

But here’s the thing, , the stakes are even higher in 2021. In this moment of intense disruption, new space is opening up to imagine solutions bigger and bolder than we dreamed of before.

We want to build that vision together. So before we lock in plans for the year ahead, we’d like to hear from members like you.

Will you answer a few short questions to help shape Stand’s priorities for 2021? Here’s the first one: What is the single most important environmental issue on your mind right now?

You can bet that the next few months won’t get any easier in the world around us. We’re still in the throes of a global pandemic, and there remains a lot of uncertainty about what lies ahead.

But there's one thing we can be certain of – to protect the things we care about and to push our leaders to be bolder on climate justice, it’s going to take all of us working together.

Last year, survey responses from the Stand community helped shape the decisions, tactics and strategies of our campaigns, so your input right now is critical for making sure we get our priorities right this coming year.

On Monday morning, our team is going to sit down and review the results. Will you take a couple minutes now to have your say and help shape our plans for 2021?

Here’s the first question: What is the single most important environmental issue on your mind right now?

In spite of the work that lies ahead, I’m feeling hopeful about the upcoming year. We’ll (finally) have a new government in the US, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the global pandemic, both the climate justice and racial justice movements are gaining incredible momentum, and financiers of the fossil fuel industry continue to drop like flies. Not to mention, we’re kicking off this year with a Stand community of 460,000 strong and growing – that’s more people power then we’ve ever had before!

, this is going to be the decade we start winning the fight against climate change and achieve justice for communities impacted by environmental racism – because it has to be.

So let’s get to work, together.

With hope and resolve,
Logan, Vojtech and Solaye on behalf of the Stand.earth team
