DONATE NOW
100% of your donations will provide a month’s supply of oxygen tanks, inhalers and medicines to help Reyna’s father survive this most dangerous phase of the pandemic.
CoDev works closely with the Honduran Women’s Collective (
CODEMUH), supporting their work to train shop floor health and safety advocates in the factories of the country’s free trade zones. \Reyna, who began as a worker in these sweatshops, became a key
CODEMUH organizer after receiving advocacy training from the organization. After many years defending women in the sweatshops, Reyna now finds herself needing assistance.
The communities around the free trade zones in northern Honduras are also the epicentres of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. Public hospitals in the region have been overwhelmed and many can no longer accept COVID-19 patients. When Reyna’s father was hit hard by the virus, the family had to place him in a private hospital. When they could no longer afford the fees, he was turfed out and Reyna is caring for him in her home. However, the medical treatments remain more than she can afford on a sweatshop organizer's salary.
Thank you for your continued support!
