EVENT – A Conversation with Climate Leaders: Where to next? r1 ... A Conversation With Climate Leaders Dear friend,

Pandemic. Racism. War. The climate emergency. We’re in the midst of interconnected crises that require bold and immediate solutions.

It’s understandable for us to feel overwhelmed in this moment. But let’s also remember that organizing is a powerful antidote to despair.

That’s why we’re inviting you to join the Council and our friends at 350 Canada for a conversation with climate leaders Anjali Appadurai (Organizing Director at Climate Emergency Unit), Avi Lewis (Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia), and local organizers about how we organize to win climate solutions that truly meet the urgency of the crises we face.

Will you join us for the discussion on where our movement goes from here?

Date: Tuesday, March 1
Time: 4pm PT / 5pm MT / 6pm CT / 7pm ET / 8pm AT / 8:30pm NT
Where: On Zoom RSVP NOW Already, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers – Canada’s most powerful oil and gas lobby – is trying to exploit Russia’s attack on Ukraine to extract and export more oil and gas from Canada. We need to organize together to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Anjali Appadurai and Avi Lewis will walk us through the political moment we’re in and what it means for climate action. We will then discuss how we organize to win critical just transition legislation that moves us as quickly and equitably as possible toward a fossil fuel-free future. r71 | Add us to your address book Facebook Twitter Instagram Website Copyright © 2022 Council of Canadians, All rights reserved.
