Help Support an Integrated Birthing Centre and Pharmacy in Rural Guatemala
CoDevelopment Canada’s partner Capacidad works side by side with local nurses, midwives, health promoters, and other partners to provide primary health care, maternity care, health education and outreach in the cooperative community of Nuevo Horizonte in northeast Guatemala.
A donation of any size is greatly appreciated; every donation goes a long way to support primary and maternity care in this inspiring community which has served as a model of solidarity across the region.
Our goal of $11,000 will provide a year-long supply of medicines and multivitamins, supplies for a primary care clinic, and much-needed maternity and postpartum care, including the support of a local traditional midwife.
● $10 provides deworming treatment for a class of 25 students
● $30 provides 1 month supply of multivitamins for a family of 4
● $75 provides maternity and postpartum care (including prenatal vitamins)
● $1500 provides medicines and supplies for 1 week of primary care clinics
● $3000 provides 1 year salary for a local traditional midwife
Capacidad is a registered association in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Members of Capacidad have a long history of providing solidarity, health services, and community-based research across the globe.
