Ranching company Carlos Casado S.A. has a license to bulldoze the last refuge for uncontacted Ayoreo Indians in Paraguay. Without the forest, the Ayoreo cannot survive. Contacted members of the tribe have sent a personal plea to Carlos Casado S.A. and its Spanish parent company Grupo San José, urging them to return the land to the Ayoreo before the forest, and their uncontacted relatives, are destroyed forever.
Dear Mr Gonzales,
Your company Carlos Casado S.A. plans to destroy the last refuge of the Ayoreo Indians – the ancestral home that they have claimed title to for 20 years – to make way for cattle. If the work goes ahead, you and your company will be responsible for the destruction of the last uncontacted Indians outside Amazonia.
Please stop any work from going ahead and hand the land back to its rightful owners, the Ayoreo.
Sincerely,
Donate to Survival's campaign to protect the Ayoreo's land
