After the big union victory by the Amazon Labor Union on Staten Island, organizing at Amazon has picked up again in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Correspondent Jeremy Appel surveys the efforts in the first of a new series on Amazon in Canada.
Ontario construction strikes: Carpenters, Operating Engineers and LiUNA members still out. UA ratified a new agreement after a first offer was rejected, while Sheet Metal Workers and Roofers rejected theirs.
Federal service: The Public Service Alliance of Canada is seeking 13.5% over four years, while the federal government is wants 8% over three. A strike is on the horizon.
