I’m excited to moderate this panel with BCCLA lawyers Megan McDermott, Mara Selanders, and Stephen Chin breaking down the ways in which criminalization disproportionally impacts marginalized communities. We will talk about the moves we and our allies are making locally and nationally to address these oppressive legal structures.
Our panellists will speak to:
- the increased risks of criminalization faced by immigrants and refugees;
- the continued practice of illegal street checks;
- the efforts being made to decriminalize drugs;
- what you can do to... take action.
