news and action Saturday November 26, 2022
It’s been a wild year. More climate disasters, more raids on Indigenous land defenders. A major war in Ukraine and a rush to develop new oil and gas projects. A financial crunch and a health care crisis that's hitting the most vulnerable people the hardest. A dramatic BC NDP leadership race that put climate front and centre and sent a new premier to Victoria.

As the year... draws to a close, Dogwood staff and volunteers are taking time to reflect on victories and lessons learned in 2022 – and turn our minds towards the road ahead.

On Wednesday, our Field team pulled together a big organizing call to talk about how we can grow and strengthen our community connections, build our movement’s power to fight for climate justice, and deepen our commitment to actions that uphold Indigenous rights and sovereignty.

Dogwood’s local teams will be hitting the ground running in the new year on all of these fronts. If you’re not already plugged in to our inspiring volunteer community and would like to be, hit reply to this email and one of our staff organizers will be in touch.

And whether you’re a longtime Dogwood supporter or someone who’s recently joined our community, we want to hear your priorities for action in 2023.

We know that to build an even bigger movement that has the muscle to make lasting change in B.C., it’s important we design strategies that people like you, who make up this powerful collective, support and want to participate in.

Please take a few minutes to fill out this year’s Dogwood Supporter Survey, if you haven’t already. Your answers will help us choose campaigns and priorities that will be effective, and help build our shared vision of the future.
