Dear Friend,
For 60 years, our work wouldn’t have been possible without supporters like you. We are a small organization tackling big problems.
This year, we celebrated a big win. In our fight to end the inhumane practice of immigration detention across the country - which detains thousands of marginalized migrants and refugee claimants every year in provincial jails - the BC government finally terminated its contract with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) this year. Many provinces have since followed suit to be on the right side of history.
Our work doesn’t stop here. We came this far with strategies and in coalition with organizations and community groups. Will you join us in creating another 60 years of legacy of change?
DONATE TODAYWith your support, the BCCLA... can:
- Fight to end Immigration Detention on a federal level;
- Litigate and intervene in important cases concerning your privacy rights;
- Continue our work in police accountability and law reform by participating in critical discussions such as the Lethbridge Police Service Inquiry;
- Develop and update our educational resources, such as the Arrest Handbook, so more people can know their rights when interacting with law enforcement.
This important list goes on. Like you, we are passionate about just and equitable changes. Thank you for being on our side year after year.

Mara Selanders (she/her)
