The Science Centre is an important fixture in a community that is frequently underserved, and highlights Toronto’s unique ravine system. There have been talks about moving the Ontario science centre to Ontario Place so that housing can be built in the place of the Ontario Science Centre, and even Premier Doug Ford thinks it’s a "great idea" to move The Ontario Science Centre to Ontario Place, The Ontario Science Centre is a vital place for the communities of Thorncliffe and Flemington Park, The nearby schools bring their students to the science centre for field trips, to learn about many different things.
Many families take their children to visit the Science Centre. Plus, they’re building an LRT/Subway station near there and if the Science Centre does get moved, what are they going to do with the station?
Plus, the housing that they will build in the place of the science centre will most likely not be affordable for the locals. we need to convince Doug Ford and the government to keep the Ontario Science Centre where it is. Moving the Science Center to Ontario place is a terrible idea and a waste of money.
