Yesterday, the federal government finally unveiled their long-promised Sustainable Jobs Act. Unfortunately, it left a lot to be desired.

It's a prime example of Trudeau's slippery brand of climate denial: no specifics, no urgency, and no mention of a just transition. With wildfires raging across Canada and climate scientists calling for radical action, this feeble plan to make a plan is simply unacceptable.

That’s why it was so inspiring to see hundreds of you show up during last night’s national organizing call. We missed you last night, Paov. You can watch the recording here.

During the call, we shared our plans for Canada is Burning, an emergency day of action on June 28th to demand that the federal government stop fuelling climate chaos. Already, our map is filling up fast. Just on that call, 19 actions were added to our map -- and we're expecting more.

Last week, major wildfires swept through nearly every province and territory. These fires have scorched a record-breaking area of land -- over 5 million hectares. And it’s only June.

We need the federal government to act with the courage necessary to tackle the climate emergency. That’s why we’re inviting communities across the country to take action on June 28th and make it impossible for our federal leaders to ignore the urgency of this moment. Together, we will show up at as many MP offices as possible and demand federal action to:

1. Stop the fossil fuel industry: no more subsidies, no new projects, and no more industry influence over our politics.

2. Enact a Just Transition: urgently shift us to 100% renewables while generating millions of unionized jobs, following Indigenous leadership, and aligning with climate science.
