With just one week until the Supreme Court of Canada hears our case, 84% of Canadians say they support assisted dying.

In the most comprehensive Canadian survey ever undertaken on the public’s perception of dying with dignity, a resounding 84 per cent of respondents declared their support for physician assisted dying. More than 90% agree that a person should not be compelled to endure drawn-out suffering.

This poll reflects what the BCCLA, our clients, and supporters of this case have long known: it’s time for Canada to adopt a new approach to dying that respects compassionate choice.

As long as Canadian law continues to prohibit physician assistance in dying, seriously ill Canadians will suffer against their will. Help us to change the law.

Next Wednesday, October 15, 2014 the BC Civil Liberties Association, with our amazing team of clients and pro bono counsel, will take the right to die with dignity case to the Supreme Court of Canada. This is a legal battle we have been fighting for more than four years.

Please donate now to help support the costs of this case.

We're leaving for Ottawa, come with us

Right now across the country, the families, pro bono counsel, and BCCLA staff who are at the centre of this case are packing their bags in preparation to travel to Ottawa for next week's Supreme Court hearings.

Here in Vancouver, some of the case's most committed supporters are preparing to gather together at 5:45am to watch the proceedings live via webcast.

Wherever you are, we invite you to follow our journey through facebook and twitter, as we travel to the Supreme Court of Canada. We hope you'll join us.

We've only made it this far because of the generous support of people who care about this issue. If you can,r0
