The world's two largest cement makers are merging. Workers are concerned.
The world’s two largest cement makers, Lafarge and Holcim, recently announced they would merge.
They have made it clear that the merger will benefit shareholders, however
they have refused to make any commitments to the workers, many of whom will be spun off into another company or made redundant.
They have also refused to allow workers and unions to be heard in the merger process.
Unions representing workers at the two companies demand that they guarantee:
Workers are fighting back.
Unions at Lafarge and Holcim have launched a global campaign and want our support.
Please sign up to send a strong message to the companies -- click here:

Please spread the word in your union -- share this email. Thank you!
An update on the campaign we launched last week: Thanks to the nearly 10,000 of you who have signed up
to support the workers at Maltepe University hospital in Istanbul. While the dispute is continuing, we know we've gotten the attention of management -- they've already complained to our Internet Service Provider about how many email messages you've been sending! Well done. Let's keep up the pressure.
