Poop in the ocean

Cruise ships are dumping billions of liters of human sewage into the ocean -- but we’ve got a plan to make them stop by running hard-hitting ads on travel websites like TripAdvisor.

Will you chip in CA$63 to fund the ads and get the campaign started?

Dear Paov,

Imagine if your neighbors' toilet flushed straight into where your children swim -- or even your drinking water.

That’s exactly what cruise ships do every day, dumping sewage -- sometimes completely untreated -- directly into the sea.

But we’ve come up with an incredibly effective strategy to force these big corporate polluters to clean up their act.

Here’s the plan: Almost everyone who goes on vacation nowadays uses the Internet to plan their trip. And ads on travel websites are surprisingly inexpensive.

So if we can raise $50,000, we’ll be able to launch a major ad campaign on travel websites like TripAdvisor warning tourists about the filthiest cruise ships, and force the companies to pay attention. Will you chip in CA$63 to get it going?

Yes, I'll chip in CA$63 to demand that cruise ships clean up their act.

These floating poop factories kill dolphins and whales and destroy fragile ecosystems -- and it’s getting worse. In fact, in many cases the environmental standards of major cruise lines like Norwegian, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean are actually going down. Rather than acting to clean up their waste streams, corporations are opting to put their profits first.

In fact, it's estimated that cruise ships dump a shocking 3.8 billion liters of sewage into the ocean every year!

But no one wants to spend their vacation floating through a river of sewage. And with hard-hitting ads on travel websites, we can make sure tourists know the dirty truth. Once cruise ship companies start hearing about people canceling their vacations, they’ll face enormous pressure to clean up.

And it's not even just sewage. Cruise ships are notorious sources of air pollution, too. It's a classic case of big corporations putting their profits ahead of the environment.

But if we can raise $50,000 for this project, we’ll be able to launch an ad campaign big enough to force change. Can you chip in CA$63 to help get it started?

Yes, I'll chip in CA$63 to demand that cruise ships clean up their act.

Thanks for all you do,
