It’s high time to protect kids from chlorpyrifos
Scientists have known for years that chlorpyrifos can harm children’s developing brains.
Tell EPA that action is long overdue.
Dear Paov,
The science on chlorpyrifos is crystal clear — and it's time for EPA to step up.
For years, researchers have linked this widely used insecticide to serious childhood health harms. Yet EPA is now proposing that the use of this neurotoxic chemical continue. It's unacceptable.
Protect kids, now! » EPA is still taking input on its latest health review of chlorpyrifos — but the comment period closes on April 30! Add your name to our petition today, and press Administrator Gina McCarthy to do something — finally — about this child-harming pesticide.
Many studies confirm that chlorpyrifos can damage children’s developing brains. Even low-level exposures can reduce IQ and increase the risk of autism. Once again, EPA is low-balling these harms to children.
Home use of chlorpyrifos was banned over a decade ago, precisely because science showed a risk to children’s health. Yet it continues to be used in agricultural fields, and residues are found on many fruits and vegetables — including common childhood favorites like grapes, apples and peaches.
Action is long overdue » Children in rural areas are especially at risk, since chlorpyrifos can drift into nearby homes and schools. It’s high time for EPA to take action to protect children, workers and communities across the country from this harmful chemical.
Thank you for standing up for children’s health!
