Tell the House to hold the line on TPP
Urge your Representative to say no to fast tracking the largest trade deal in history.
Dear Paov,
After a heated battle in the Senate, “fast track” authority for the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is on its way to the House. Tell your Representative to say no to fast tracking the TPP.
Leaked documents confirm that the pact would undermine hard-won protections for the environment, worker safety and public health — and increase the power of corporations in the global marketplace.
“Fast track” means secret » Corporations like Monsanto and the Big 6 have had a seat at the table throughout negotiations — but with “fast track” authority, members of Congress won’t even see the agreement until it’s a done deal. This is not a good idea.
The TPP would be the largest trade deal in history, covering 792 million people and about 40% of the world’s economy. Rules affecting food and farming — among many other sectors — are being negotiated behind closed doors.
Make your voice heard » We can still turn the tide on this one — and now is the time. A lot is at stake with TPP. Tell your Representative to stand by their constituents and say no to corporate interests.
Thank you for speaking up!
