The world had its
eyes on Canada this week as the final gathering for the Truth and
Reconciliation Commission convened in Ottawa, unceded Algonquin Territory. The gathering brought together
residential school survivors, their descendants, and
other concerned citizens to review the long-awaited final report of
recommendations that resulted from a 5-year investigation into the
genocidal legacy of the residential school era. The final report lists
94 calls to action. Read those and more critical news stories in this
edition of INM Roots.
