The Harper government will be using its $14 billion Building Canada Fund to help it win the October 19 federal election.
Council of Canadians... chairperson Maude Barlow spoke at a Kingston and District Labour Council event at Lake Ontario Park on Saturday afternoon. The other speakers at the BBQ & Family Day gathering were Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) president Hassan Yussuff, Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) president Robyn Benson and Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) secretary-treasurer Nancy Hutchinson.
European Union member state Slovenia appears to have concerns about the investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) in the United States-European Union Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Given this, there is reason to be hopeful that these concerns would also extend to the ISDS provision in the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
