We're also hiring, so check out the job posting below and bring your energy and ideas to the work we do!

  • We're very happy to continue our partnership with the Dignity for All Campaign, which is travelling to BC just a month before the federal elections, so it's perfect timing to talk about a National Anti-Poverty Plan! • Our very own Road to a Poverty-Free BC project is coming to Kelowna, Vernon, Nanaimo, Victoria, Abbotsford and Burnaby! Check out the schedule below and don't miss it! Book us if you don't see your community featured, we'd love to visit!
  • We're sad to see Gil, our current Communications and Outreach Assistant, moving on to a new position, so we're hiring for a new team member! Check out the posting below and apply to join the team!

Trish

The Dignity for All campaign is an effort of both Canada Without Poverty and Citizens for Public Justice, and we're very happy to join them in co-hosting a workshop to learn about poverty in Canada. More importantly, the workshop can help you gain tools and skills to help end poverty and help build better communities for all!

This workshop will help participants:

  • Gain awareness about poverty issues in Canada
  • Learn about the Dignity for All campaign and how the anti-poverty plan can be used in your community
  • Participate in discussions about income insecurity, housing, food security, jobs, early childhood education/care and health
  • Gain tools to address the structural causes of poverty

This is especially critical as we are just over a month away from the upcoming federal elections, and we need to make sure political parties have strong programs to tackle poverty. And speaking of elections, please take a moment to have a look at Elections Canada's website to make sure you're registered to vote! We'll be back with more election updates next time.

We're coming to a town near you!

We're thrilled to announce that the second leg of our Road to a Poverty-Free BC project is about to start, and we hope to see you there!

Trish will facilitate a community workshop on story-telling and effective advocacy, providing an opportunity to strategize about how we can work together to make systemic change in tackling poverty. These events are part of a province-wide tour. Come and hear success stories, learn practical skills and connect with other communities around BC.
