A,
A few weeks ago, Harper gave Shell permission to drill in the Shelburne Basin, off the coast of Nova Scotia, even though the company can't cap an oil blowout for 21 days.
Now it's up to the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board to decide whether to give the go-ahead to this risky project.
Over 212,000 of us have already called on the CNSOPB to reject Shell's application -- but we need to keep the pressure up.
Let's keep this issue in the news.
Shell thinks that with the federal election in full swing, no one is paying attention to its risky plans to drill off the coast of Nova Scotia. Let's show the drilling giant that we haven't forgotten.
The area that Shell plans to drill is home to some of Canada's amazing marine life, major fishing grounds, coastal communities and the Sable Island National Park Reserve, the world's largest breeding colony of grey seals.
We all saw how devastating an offshore blowout can be after seeing the death and destruction that followed the BP Deepwater Horizon spill. A similar blowout could cause unimaginable destruction off the coast of Nova Scotia if Shell’s plans become a reality.
Raise your voice to stop Shell's risky offshore project.

The SumOfUs community has stood up to Big Oil's destruction of the environment before, and we've had a major impact. Hundreds of thousands of us came together to stop Shell from drilling in the Arctic, and to demand that Chevron pay for its crimes in the Amazon. Now, let's stand together to keep Shell out of Nova Scotia.
Thanks for all that you do,
Angus, Emma, Liz and the rest of the SumOfUs Canada team
