The future of our generation
View in browser
Hey PAOV,
Today is a pivotal day for the future of our people and planet.
Right now, leaders from 193 countries have met to adopt a roadmap to help the world achieve three extraordinary things: end extreme poverty, reduce inequality, and protect the planet. All by the year 2030.
How? I’d like to introduce you to the Global Goals. Today, the United Nations have agreed on 17 goals, covering everything from gender equality to ending hunger. The Global Goals will impact your life, my life, and the life of every single person on the planet. For that reason, every single person on the planet needs to know about them.
These goals could seriously work. Since 1990, extreme poverty has been cut in half. 2.6 billion people have gained access to improved drinking water, new HIV infections are down by 40% since 2000, and more kids are in primary school than ever before. This is monumental progress. But there is still more work to be done.
If the Global Goals are going to work, everyone needs to know about them. You can’t fight for your rights if you don’t know what they are. You can’t convince world leaders to do what needs to be done if you don’t know what you’re convincing them to do. If the goals are famous, they won’t be forgotten.
Click here to spread the word about the Global Goals now.

We can be the first generation to end extreme poverty. This really could happen. But we need you on board.
Thank you for all you do,
Tom Blake and the Global Citizen Team
