SumOfUs r1
...
A,
It’s been a ground-breaking three months for SumOfUs. Powered by the efforts of our millions of members around the world -- we’ve pressured many corporations to choose people (and animals) over profits.
Take a look yourself at the impact you have made against corporations by viewing this video.

SumOfUs members like you have been having major impact. In fact, just a few days ago we received news that Astra Agro Lestari, Indonesia’s second largest palm oil producer, announced a strong palm oil policy that will protect endangered species, Sumatran elephants, the rainforest and the global climate.
And thanks to you, we've been holding some of the world's biggest companies to account:
-
We delivered a message to Bayer, a major supplier of the pesticide linked to mass pollinator die-offs worldwide.
- When Cecil the lion was killed we sprang into action. A few days after our pressure, Delta Airlines sent us an email directly announcing the shipment ban hunting trophies worldwide. Quickly after, over a dozen other airlines all announced they would do the right thing to protect animals.
- The global SumOfUs community and other partners have been a huge part of the fight against secret trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) that read like a corporate wish-list.
- Together, we got the British Columbia environment minister to agree to revisit the water rates for irresponsible industrial users, like Nestle.
- We ended a partnership between one of Canada’s most iconic companies, Tim Hortons, and a tar sands pipeline company, Enbridge.
- SumOfUs members were crucial in getting Standard Chartered to publicly cut ties with an investment that would destroy the Great Barrier Reef.
It’s been a big three months, but we’re just getting started. Over the next three months, we’ll continue taking on Monsanto to stop it from taking over our food systems, and we’ll be dialling up the pressure against Starbucks and PepsiCo for their use of conflict palm oil. Our community is effective: we’ve shown that when we come together, we can take on the largest corporations -- and win.
It’s all about strength in numbers - after all, that’s why we’re called SumOfUs.
If you're able to, please make a donation to keep up our people-powered campaigns against Monsanto, Starbucks, PepsiCo and other huge corporations.
Thank you for all that you do,
Angus, Carys, Jon, Liz, Paul, and the rest of the team at SumOfUs
