Paov,
This is an emergency. A few days ago we called on you to tell Trade Minister Ed Fast to reject the TPP’s Internet censorship scheme. Well, he didn’t listen.
This morning, he sat on stage with Trade Ministers from the 11 other Trans-Pacific Partnership countries to announce they had completed the largest and most secretive agreement in the history of the world.1
This is outrageous. Canadians deserve transparency on the secretive TPP before we vote in the upcoming federal election.... Demand party leaders reject the TPP’s Internet censorship plan, NOW.
We know this pact will have grave consequences for the open Internet. If implemented, the TPP will censor the Web, criminalize our online activities, and cost Internet users money.2
We’re not taking this lying down. Starting today, we’re building huge Canadian opposition to the TPP’s Internet censorship plan.3 Will you join us?
We need Canadians from across the country to make our message reverberate from coast to coast: do not overwrite our laws to censor the Web.
If you haven’t taken action yet: now is the time. Hurry, because we have to move quickly.
-Meghan, on behalf of your OpenMedia team
P.S., We’re going to have to pull out all the stops if we’re going to be able to defeat this agreement in the final hour. Can you donate today to help power up our fight?
