Tell McDonald's to fix its pesticide problem

Dear Paov,

Today, people across the country are showing up to shine a bright light on McDonald’s pesticide problem.

Join the Toxic Taters Coalition and help send a message to the fast food giant: We’re not lovin’ pesticide drift!

As you may know, people living near potato fields — particularly in Minnesota — are routinely exposed to hazardous pesticide drift. Applied to fields growing spuds that will become McDonald’s hash browns and fries, these chemicals drift to schools, homes and nearby pastures.

In 2009, the corporation promised to reduce pesticide use in its supply chain. It’s high time to make good on that promise — instead of investing in more marketing stunts like today’s launch of “all-day breakfast.”

Speak up! Stand with those most impacted by pesticide drift and help amplify the message. Call McDonald’s today, send an email or tweet — or join an in-person action in your area.

Members of the Toxic Taters Coalition, among others, have been experiencing health harms and livestock losses for years as a result of pesticide drift. As one coalition member put it, “As soon as the potatoes moved in, our lives changed….”

The problem of pesticide drift is real and urgent. Today, help make sure McDonald’s gets the message loud and clear.

Thank you for speaking up!
