Barlow challenges CETA in Spain
Council of Canadians chairperson Maude Barlow is speaking in Madrid today and will be in Barcelona tomorrow to challenge the CETA, the TTIP and the ISDS provisions in those deals that would allow corporations to sue governments for any future profits impacted by environmental and social justice legislation.
The Council of Canadians opposes the Vancouver-based Taseko Mines Ltd.-owned Gibraltar copper-molybdenum mine dumping untreated effluent into the Fraser River.
The City of Montreal began dumping 8 billion litres of raw sewage into the St. Lawrence River last night.

Saskatchewan passes Bill 179, the MRI Facilities Licensing Act
The government of Premier Brad Wall has passed Bill 179, legislation that allows people to pay privately for their MRIs in Saskatchewan.
CBC reports, “Canada's new agriculture minister said on Tuesday [Nov. 10] he is likely to support the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiated by the previous government...”
