A,

What do you write to over 750,000 people a month after millions of voters defeated Harper?

Thank you.

We are so grateful to the of thousands of people from coast to coast to coast who volunteered or organized to change the course of history -- concerned voters, scientists, teachers, nurses, union members and so many other Canadians.

And we're grateful to you, the SumOfUs community, for coming together to help make this election a game-changer.

We talked with our neighbours, sent thousands of letters to local and national newspapers, and we helped make this election about corporate power.

Thanks to your support, we investigated Conservative candidates’ shady corporate connections across multiple ridings and released important, crowd-funded research that made national headlines. Our Jobs for Donations site and video were viewed by over 100,000 people.

We crowd-funded over $50,000 for hard-hitting radio ads on the secretive TPP trade deal, Wheat Board privatization, and Kinder Morgan’s risky pipeline expansion. Our ads ran across dozens of stations in swing ridings from Ontario to the prairies to British Columbia -- where Conservative candidates saw their seats drop dramatically.

We penned hundreds of letters to the editor, drawing local and national attention to shady patronage appointments at agencies like the National Energy Board and the Canada Revenue Agency.

On this November day, we want to take just a moment to feel grateful that there's change in Ottawa, and Harper and his cronies are gone after 9 years of damage.

This is a huge moment and a massive victory for democracy and people over profits.

We're already rolling up our sleeves and getting back to work -- on stopping the TPP, on getting a fair and binding global deal to stop climate change, and on making sure Canadian companies do what it takes to protect the environment and improve workers rights.

We’re going to do even more to keep our biggest corporations accountable.

We’ll be in touch soon about what this new Liberal majority government means for corporate power -- and how we can keep working for a better Canada.

Thanks for all that you do,
Emma, Liz, Rosa, Angus and the team at SumOfUs Canada
