r1 ... PAN PAN Let’s build on this momentum!

Dear Paov,

As you know, our goals here at PAN are big. Building a healthy, thriving food system requires real patience, and sometimes concrete wins are few and far between.

But this year is different. This year, we celebrated meaningful victories for farmers, farmworkers, children and honey bees. And we couldn’t have done any of it without you. Thank you for stepping up in a big way over the course of the year.

Will you help carry this work forward by giving a year-end gift today? Both your activism and your donations are so critical to our work.

It’s a truly impressive list of victories we’ve won together this year:

Herbicide cocktail on hold: In response to the weed resistance problem created by Monsanto’s RoundUp Ready crops, Dow introduced new genetically engineered seeds designed for use with a hazardous 2,4-D/glyphosate mixture. Our lawsuit prompted EPA to reconsider its approval of this chemical cocktail, and Dow’s “Enlist Duo” is now on hold. Better farmworker protections: Working with partner groups across the country, we won stronger rules protecting farmworkers in the field. These critical and long overdue improvements include banning workers under 18 from handling pesticides. Neurotoxic pesticide on its way out: Thanks in large part to thousands of comments from concerned citizens like you, EPA is finally following the science on the brain-harming pesticide chlorpyrifos. In late October, the agency announced its intention to pull this widely used pesticide from the market by the end of 2016. Bee-harming pesticide off the shelf: In April, we delivered four million signatures to the White House demanding action on bee-harming pesticides. Between this public pressure and our legal actions, EPA was convinced to take one recently approved bad actor — Dow’s sulfoxaflor — off the market.

We’re so excited to build on the momentum we’ve created together in the year ahead. r2
