Shine a light on their harmful products and practices. Dear Paov,
Dow might not be the first name you think of when it comes to pesticides and GE seeds, but this corporation — along with Monsanto — is one of the “Big 6” corporations controlling global agricultural markets.
From manufacturing brain-harming and carcinogenic pesticides, to interfering with regulatory processes to keep its harmful products on the market, Dow’s self-serving agenda is clear.
Shame on Dow. Join us and our friends at Corporate Accountability International in calling out this corporation’s damaging products and practices. Vote for Dow in Corporate Accountability International’s annual “Hall of Shame” contest.
Here’s a small sampling of the misdeeds that we think earn Dow your vote:
In California, Dow interfered with the regulatory process to ensure that cancer-causing Telone remained in use. Originally banned in 1990, it is now the second most widely used pesticide near schools.
Dow’s Enlist Duo — designed as a 2,4-D/glyphosate herbicide cocktail intended for use with its new GE seed line — was just pulled from the market after the corporation got caught lying about the impacts of the combined chemicals.
Despite overwhelming evidence of harm to children’s developing brains, Dow continues to defend and promote their neurotoxic insecticide, chlorpyrifos.
Call out Dow’s long history of bad practices. Not only does this corporation continue pushing health-harming chemicals into communities worldwide, but it refuses to take responsibility for one of the worst industrial accidents in history.
In 1984 in Bhopal, India, a pesticide plant released deadly gas across the city, resulting in thousands of immediate deaths — along with decades of devastation and continued chronic illness. More than 30 years later, Dow still refuses to make reparations.
