If Carlsberg did ... union busting

If Carlsberg did ... union busting r1 ... "If Carlsberg did ..." is considered one of the greatest advertising slogans of all time.

The world-famous brewery has pitched itself as the perfect managers, and the ads show what a bank, hotel or football team might look like if Carlsberg ran it.

But real life is different.

In Cambodia today, Carlsberg is engaged in the worst kind of exploitative practices including union-busting.

The victims are some of the most vulnerable workers: women who are employed by the company to promote sales of its beer in restaurants.

When the women stood up for their rights, the company sacked 11 of them.

Those women and their union are calling for an international protest campaign, and the International Union of Foodworkers (IUF) has just launched one on their website.
