We've just won a major prize for trade union rights r1 ... The Arthur Svensson Foundation in Norway today announced that the recipient of their annual prize for trade union rights is LabourStart.

You can read the announcement here.

We are delighted that our efforts -- your efforts -- have been recognized in this way.

Previous recipients of the award include Mahdi Abu Dheeb and Jalila al-Salman (Bahrain), Napoleon Gomez Urrutia (Mexico), Valentin Urusov (Russia), the C.CAWDU (Cambodia), Shaher Sae'd (Palestine) and Wellington Chibebe (Zimbabwe). The prize was established by the Industri Energi union. The award ceremony will take place in Oslo on 15 June.

We are deeply honored to have received this award.

But it is also a reminder of the ongoing struggle for workers' rights everywhere.

Today, I'd like to ask for your support for Turkish workers, employees of CP Chicken, who are fighting against unjust dismissals and wage cuts. Their union has asked for our help; please support the campaign we've just launched and spread the word - click here.

Thank you very much!
