Both the Federal and Provincial governments are reducing services to Seniors and at the same time expressing concern about the amount of money people will have for retirement.
The Ontario government, rather than creating a new ORRP with low returns and high administrative costs it would be far easier to stop taxing seniors especially on their fixed incomes and possibly estate taxes. The Federal government claws back the OAS and taxes the CPP.
Seniors have paid enough and need the income to cover the rising costs of living after retirement. Taxing income on after tax investments is double dipping.
