Wow. In a little over a day Fair Vote Canada supporters have contributed over half the money we need for these three projects. I'm deeply grateful. An Elections Canada report released this week stated that they are preparing to "deliver a fundamentally different election in 2019." We've come this far. Together, we're working to make sure the government keeps its promise to "Make Every Vote Count"! If you can help, please contribute now.

Help us Raise $12,000 to Educate More People on the Benefits of PR with Key Projects!
These next 12 months are a critical period in the campaign for proportional representation in Canada. The government has just committed 10.7 million dollars for education and consultation - 8 million of which will be spent on public consultation over the next year.
In May 2017 the government will introduce legislation for electoral reform - a new voting system for the 2019 federal election. Will the legislation be for a proportional system?
We won't get another chance.
That's why we need your help now for these three items:
Over the past two years, we've been running a series of webinars on why we need proportional representation. We cover the nuts and bolts and benefits of PR with webinars that focus on:
1. The basics
2. The systems that could work in Canada: MMP and STV
3. Bringing experts and politicians together for a multi-partisan solution
4. Providing crucial campaign updates
5. Creating more informed and confident advocates
The enrollment grows each time we host a webinar. Enrollment is so high we have outgrown all the free and low cost plans. As the consultations get underway, the webinars become a more important tool to educate and communicate. We need your help to continue.
Single Transferable Vote Video
Two years ago, Fair Vote Canada crowdfunded to produce three videos explaining how three proportional models work - two versions of Mixed Member Proportional and P3 (Stephane Dion's system).
As the campaign has evolved its become very obvious we need a video to introduce Canadians to another popular, proportional model for Canada - Single Transferable Vote (STV).
STV was the proportional system chosen by the BC Citizens' Assembly and received almost 58% of the vote in 2005. As confusion about "ranked ballots" grows in the media, we need a Canadian STV video in our collective toolbox.
Campaign Materials such as our Tabloid Newpaper
The Fair Vote Canada tabloid is the main piece of literature our volunteers and teams use - handed out to people who want to learn more at tables and events in communities across Canada. The last time we printed them was two years ago and we are almost out. Help us get a new and updated batch off the printer to give our teams the resources they need!
Can you chip in to help us move forward now?
Fair Vote Canada is a people-powered movement. Our supporters - like you - are the best advocates of proportional representation. We've all worked hard, built this movement over 16 years, and have reached this moment together.
When the government's ears are open we need to make sure all our supporters have the information they need to talk to politicians, friends, neighbours and media.
Please donate now so we can continue our series of webinars, create an STV video, and reprint our important campaign materials.
With gratitude,
Anita Nickerson
