Hundreds fill climate townhalls

Last week people showed up en-masse for climate townhalls. Now, it's your turn! r1

Friends,

Last week, the government’s national climate consultations started in full force. A wave of townhalls took place from BC to the Maritimes -- and at each one, the room was packed with hundreds of people speaking up in support of the People’s Climate Plan.

A record breaking number of people showed up for a climate townhall in the York Region.

Hundreds of people attended consultations. In the York region, just outside of Toronto, the climate consultation was one of the largest townhalls the community had ever had. In Winnipeg, at a consultation hosted by the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, the venue was so far over capacity that dozens of people, including the Minister herself, couldn’t find seats!

This week, we demonstrated to the government that people across Canada are ready for real climate action that aligns with the science of climate change and commits Canada to a justice-based 100% renewable energy economy.

In Montreal, hundreds of people were eager to speak up even as the consultation ended.

But we can’t stop now. Dozens of townhalls are planned for the upcoming weeks -- and we have plans to be at all of them. Click here to find a townhall near your community and sign up!

Together, we can stand together and hold this government to account -- it all starts by showing up and speaking up for the People’s Climate Plan. Sign up now!

We’ll be in touch with more updates about climate townhalls.

Onwards,

Aurore
