Hey PAOV,
In case you missed it: Global Citizen partnered with C2 Montréal as the 2016 Official Social Change Partner. C2 Montréal is a conference that inspires creative leadership, and is said to be “a business conference unlike any other” by Harvard Business Review.

We collaborated with them in support of quality education around the world last week at their conference in Canada. This creative collaboration included brainstorming in ball pits, masterclasses, workshops with lego constructions and colouring, competitions for solutions, and a keynote chat that included Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans.

One lucky Canadian Global... Citizen even won passes to C2 Montréal by taking action.

You can take action too: Global Citizens are calling on the Canadian Government to send a strong message by committing $75M towards the newly formed fund to support access to education in emergencies. Education was the main focus as humanitarian emergencies across the world, from Syria to Nigeria, South Sudan, Afghanistan and beyond, are disrupting the schooling of 80 million children, which more than 50 per cent are girls. In 2016, we can change their story, but the window to do so is narrowing.

Circumstance should not be a barrier to education. Yet, global responses to humanitarian emergencies do little to protect children’s right to learn. Last year, less than 2 per cent of all humanitarian aid went to education. This must change.

Send a message to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Foreign Minister Stéphane Dion and Minister of International Development Marie-Claude Bibeau, asking the Canadian Government to commit $75M to the Education Crisis Platform. Thanks for all you do,

Dominic and the Global Citizen Team
