To Farmland Protection Coalition supporters,
In betrayal of First Nations and Canada's court system, Site C Dam received quiet federal approvals as this BC day long weekend began. Check out Wilderness Committee Site C for updates, a petition, and fund raising for the continuing fight! As well the BC Green Party has a petition to "Tell Christy Clark to stop Site C."
There is a fight to Save the Blenkinsop Valley on Vancouver Island organizing. The fertile ALR and farm lands are suffering from growing encroachment from industrial uses. If you are able to attend in person Nathalie and Dave Chambers of Madrona Farm are holding an organizing meeting this week:

Langford Council's Block Exclusion covering 1/2 of all the ALR lands in the City of Langford has been ruled on by the ALC. The rationals for removal of approximately 1/4 of the ALR lands in the block exclusion application were a lack of quality soils, the property being too small to be viable, and/or too isolated from other ALR lands due to past exclusions, or some properties of less than 2 acres not legally covered by ALC regulations. Happily each decision noted that the $13.45 per sq. meter charge at the time of rezoning towards Langford's ALR fund played no part in the decision making by the ALC Van. Isl. Regional Panel.
