Thanks to more than a few generations of union activists we're all enjoying the long weekend.
I won't keep you from the parades and picnics, BBQs and family. But I did want to ask you to take a minute and think of the folks walking picket lines this weekend instead of enjoying a break from work. Like our comrades at The Chronicle-Herald (HTU-CWA) in Halifax, on the street and struggling against vicious concessions for almost 8 months now.
And another for the sisters at Canadian Blood Services in Charlottetown (NSUPE). Just barely back at work after almost exactly a year on the line fighting for stable hours of work that would allow them to have a family life.

On Friday more Indian workers were walking pickets lines than there are Canadians. Think about that for a second and then go find out why on our Indian news page HERE.
